drums, percussion and sound scapes on homemade instruments
Pat Riské is an eclectic man or - to use his own words - a "man of sculptures, paintings, drawings, light objects, etc." Self-taught, he took courses of bronze casting, forging and experimenting also with glass.
Being a percussionist, he started building instruments in bronze and with recycled materials, then he evolved creating objects with their own design (especially light objects).
His self-built instruments highly contribute to the aesthetics of his music. When he plays, in fact, it's pretty clear that his hands 'know' in depth the sound of each material he had choosen.
He is involved in a lot of music projects:
--- Imagine this, cd ''The Minotaur'', drums and percussions;
--- The Whale consort quartet, percussion drums and sound scape;
--- The devil's PATh of JeDea trio, drums;
--- Puppet theatre: Theater Tieret (percussions)
Theater Hutsepot (percussions)
--- Fysiek and inprov Theatre: vzw. Contrepoids;
--- soundscapes: Mawihodi;
--- ''beweging laat sporen na''; (*)
--- percussions solo projects;
--- resonare 5; (**)
--- Trommel trio, with Mike Govaerts and Kris Van der Straeten - drums and percussion.
Riské also teaches in several cultural centres.
